Our Verdict

When comparing gooseberries to kiwi, we picked the kiwi.

Why?

Both have their merits!

In terms of macros, gooseberries have more fiber while kiwi has more carbs, so we call this a a win for gooseberries. The differences aren’t huge though, so it is a modest win, but a win nevertheless.

In the category of vitamins, gooseberries have more of vitamins A, B1, and B5, while kiwi has more of vitamins B3, B9, C, E, and K, of which latter vitamin kiwi is (appropriately enough) a very good source. So, a win for kiwi, and by generous margins of difference, too.

Looking at minerals, gooseberries have more manganese and selenium, while kiwi has more calcium, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and zinc, winning easily.

In other considerations, it’s worth noting that kiwi has special anticancer properties that gooseberries can’t claim, so that’s another win for kiwi.

Adding up the sections makes for a clear overall win for kiwi, but by all means do enjoy either or both, as diversity is good!
