Our Verdict
When comparing cranberries to strawberries, we picked the strawberries.
Why?
In terms of macros, cranberries start strong with slightly more fiber and carbs, winning the first round.
In the category of vitamins, cranberries have more of vitamins A, B5, B6, E, and K, while strawberries have more of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B7, B9, and C, scoring them a marginal victory here.
Looking at minerals, cranberries have a tiny touch more copper (as well as more sodium), while strawberries have notably more calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, and zinc, winning another round easily.
In other considerations, both have beneficial phytochemical properties, but cranberries’ health properties are a mixed bag of good and bad, while strawberries’ offerings in this regard (simply: a greater abundance of polyphenols) are solely good, so strawberries win this round too.
Adding up the sections makes for a clear overall win for strawberries, but do enjoy either or both*, as diversity is best!
